Indian Media Council (IMC) is a registered, independent, and national-level media organization working actively across various states of India. The organization was established to bring journalists, social organizations, and digital news publishers onto a common platform and strengthen responsible, ethical, and fearless journalism.
IMC is committed to the overall development, safety, dignity, and welfare of journalists. We believe that journalists are the fourth pillar of democracy, who work selflessly even in challenging conditions to serve society and uphold truth.

The INDIAN MEDIA COUNCIL (Reg.) is committed to strengthening ethical, independent, and responsible journalism across India. The primary goals of the Council are:
1. Promotion of Ethical Journalism
To uphold and promote high standards of journalistic ethics, integrity, and accountability in print, digital, and electronic media.
2. Support for Digital and Independent Media
To empower digital journalists, small newspapers, and independent media platforms through advocacy, training, and institutional support.
3. Protection of Journalists’ Rights
To safeguard the rights, dignity, and security of journalists and media professionals across the country.
4. Media Education and Skill Development
To organize workshops, seminars, and training programs on digital journalism, investigative reporting, media law, and emerging technologies.
5. Legal and Policy Advocacy
To represent media concerns before appropriate authorities and advocate for fair policies, transparency, and media freedom.
6. Promotion of Responsible Media Practices
To encourage factual reporting, counter misinformation, and promote responsible content creation in the public interest.
7. Welfare and Social Security Initiatives
To work towards insurance, welfare schemes, and social security measures for journalists, especially those working in rural and small media sectors.
